Introduction

Digital Humanism and new organizational models for social life place the man at the center. Applied Neurosciences provides an innovative interpretation of cognitive capacity, that is the way to properly think and act like a human. Its application to economics and management is a frontier topic that contributes to the comprehension of human behavior aimed at improving the government of dynamic capabilities, seen as the modes of formulation of business strategies. The Neuroscience Lab resides in Turin, at Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, and collaborates with IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca.

Vision and Mission

Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center has set up the laboratories of Applied Research and Development - including the Neuroscience Lab - to respond to the complex needs of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and its customers, which are not currently covered by big players or startups and are determined by the evolution of new market trends and "exponential growth" technologies. The labs develop applied research solutions through teams constituted by highly qualified researchers, selected at a national and international level from academic and research areas. The main objectives of the labs are the diffusion, acquisition, and transferring of new competencies and know-how within the Group and to their customers, creating new assets: algorithms, services, and products; all protecting the intellectual property and generating impact and value for the Group and their clients.

  • 2015

    Intesa Sanpaolo and IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca sign an agreement to cooperate in the name of innovation, exploring the applied research of Neurosciences to the social, economic, and managerial fields.
  • 2018

    Neuroscience Lab is created, composed of a multidisciplinary team with competencies in social neuroscience, cognitive psychology, economics, business model management, and business strategy.
  • 2018

    The first joint scientific article between Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is published in the form of a report titled “Neuroscience Impact. Brain and Business”.
  • 2020

    The results of the translational research become the base for scientific publications, to disseminate the acquired knowledge and consolidate the position of the Neuroscience Lab on the international academic scene.
